{OC 2008}

Had wanted to blog for ages. Finally have the right time, right environment to do so.

Was at an Oceania conference over the Easter break. Good Friday all through to Easter Monday. (Pretty cool, over here u get a public holiday for Easter Sunday)It was an awesome conference, just learned so much and experienced deeply His presence during this time. Was rather apprehensive about going at first, afterall, I've been to countless church camps and conferences, surely this would be just another one of those camps......but I was wrong. =) Happily proven wrong.

Preparations for the visuals department for OC (Oceania Convention) started more than 2 weeks prior, firstly with countless P&W prep forms flooding my inbox. Next came the technical training, which I had to balance between lab work on a Saturday. It culminated on Thursday, the day just before Good Friday itself, when we had to rush to the venue and setup stuff. It all went on in a blur, and it was during then that I realised I'm really not a technical person. I have been in the ministry for quite some time liao, can be considered a "senior" among the team, and yet I only had a vague idea of what to do for setup. What's more,on that day when Rayson said the cables have to go on the ceiling, I thought he was mad. Now I'm ashamed that I had thought so. I should have seen things.....no, "visualised" things with the eyes of faith.

Fasted and prayed prior to OC. Was glad that I did so, first time being so serious about a church conference. This, I believe, was one of the reasons I experienced the presence of God so deeply.

Spent nearly half my time during OC helping/hanging around the visuals desk. I'm actually very "kan cheong" when it comes to visuals duty-- there must be no mistakes or the entire Oceania will know, and this is especially a challenge for me as I'm such a "kan-cheong" and "technically-challenged" person. Sometimes I can't even figure out how my handphone works -- its really God's grace that I can handle this ministry.

Perhaps its also because of this that God really wants to use me for His purposes. I still remembered being so nervous on my duty days that I'll dream of visualising in my dreams. Woke up on Friday and Sunday morning with abit of cold feet,thinking about what will happen during the rest of the day. But the Saviour King song came to mind ("Let now the weak say I have strength.....") and I was encouraged by it.

God has really brought me a long way. From a person who dreads and is easily unnerved about ministry challenges, during this OC, I was just full of faith that everything will go well. Even though it was the most technically difficult of all conferences, somehow, I just knew that God will hold every thing together. And He did. Yay!!

Thank you visuals team. You guys are the best, always accommodating my weaknessess. Thank you Da Ge. You are the best and most inspiring brother I have met. Thank you Judah 5. I just been so blessed by your hearts (esp. xuan, yvonne, cintia) and I love you.

Wow,its gonna be an awfully long post, but yea, give me more time, will ya?

On Sunday evening, during dinner, God planned another blessing to me. Was really tired, physically and mentally, by then, and didn't have much appetite for the food. All bros and sis have left the table, and I was looking at having to finish the food by myself all alone. But Veon stayed behind and "pei" me. She shared with me about the workshop she had attended. I had initally grabbed her notes and started reading myself, but she told me gently to eat my food while she read out the stuff to me. This is so good, she's essentially ministering to me, a tired soul. It was about burning out in ministry, and she read her notes out and went through the "burnt out" checklist with me. (As expected, I was abit "overcooked")Thank God for this sister. =)

Yea, I'll learn to believe now.....
